BestShot · Legal
Last updated 8 September 2026. This policy covers the BestShot mobile app on iOS and Android. Where the two differ it says so — the Android build ships with no advertising at all.
The short version. BestShot reads your photo library, contacts and calendar to find things worth cleaning up. All of that analysis happens on your device, and none of it is ever sent anywhere. The app has no account, no login and no server of its own.
On iOS, one thing does leave your device: what the advertising system needs in order to show ads. That is described in full below.
On Android, nothing leaves your device at all. That build ships with the advertising system switched off.
BestShot is published by CÔNG TY TNHH HOTALAB (HOTALAB COMPANY LIMITED), enterprise code 0111618627, registered in Hà Nội, Việt Nam.

BestShot needs access to several things on your phone in order to do its job. Everything in this list is read, analysed and acted on entirely on the device. None of it is uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or anyone else — we never receive it and could not retrieve it if we wanted to.
Deleting the app removes all of this local data.
On Android: nothing. The advertising system is not merely disabled in code — the ads SDK's start-up component and the advertising-ID permissions are removed from the app package itself, so the SDK never runs and the advertising identifier is not readable. The Android build makes no request of any kind on your behalf. Its Google Play Data safety declaration therefore reads no data collected, and that is accurate.
On iOS, BestShot is free and is funded by advertising. That build uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob), which collects and shares the following in order to select and measure ads:
| Data | Why | Shared with |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising identifier and similar device identifiers | To select ads and limit repeats | |
| IP address (used to estimate approximate location) | Regional ad selection, fraud prevention | |
| In-app interaction events, such as app launches and ad taps | Ad delivery and measurement | |
| Diagnostic data about app and SDK performance | Reliability |
This data is sent over an encrypted connection. Your photos, videos, contacts and calendar are not part of it and never form part of any ad request.
BestShot requests non-personalised ads only. On iOS the app does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Google's handling of this data is governed by its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing on our side to export or erase. If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will look into it.
BestShot is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
